IU 'F' unit admission test results published
KUSHTIA: The results of 'F' unit readmission test under Applied Science and Technology Faculty of Islamic University (IU) were published on Thursday night. Some 1,116 students out of 2,944 took part in the test and of them 678 came out successful.The results can be viewed from the university website, www.iu.ac.bd, university officials said.
RU to launch ‘Campus Radio’
RAJSHAHI: The Mass Communication & Journalism (MCJ) Department is going to launch a campus-based radio named ‘RU Campus Radio’ for the first time on Rajshahi University (RU) campus while university administration will patronize the initiative. Vice-chancellor Prof Muhammed Mizanuddin is expected to inaugurate the operation on March 19 on the campus, said MCJ Department head Prof Prodip Kumar Pandey. Initially, it is launching as campus-based radio, but through the technical and infrastructure development it would be turned into FM radio letter.
Nat’l Children Day observed
MYMENSINGH: The 97th birth anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children’s Day were observed in a befitting manner with various programmes at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in Mymensingh.
A procession, led by the Vice-Chancellor BAU Prof Md Ali Akbar, was brought out on the campus that parades all important places of the campus and ended at the ‘Bangabandhu Smriti Chattar’ of BAU.
Thereafter, VC along with others placed wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu.
Shishu Kishore Council of BAU arranged a programme titled ‘Bangabandhu and Bangladesh’ on the ‘Bokul Tola’ premises where the students of nearby institutions of BAU campus participated. Special prayer was also offered in different mosques of the resident halls of the university to pay homage at Bangabandhu and his family members including the freedom fighters of the country.
Rajshahi University (RU) and Rajshahi University of Engineering & Technology (RUET) also chalked out elaborate programmes to celebrate the day in a befitting manner.
RU Vice Chancellor Prof Mizanuddin, along with Pro-VC Prof Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan Sajal, Treasurer Prof Sayen Uddin Ahmed, Registrar Prof Entajul Haque and other senior officers of the university, paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his portrait in front of Bangabandhu Hall at 7:45am marking the day.
Meanwhile, RUET authorities with vice-chancellor Prof Dr Rafiqul Islam Bag paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths on the campus. They also offered prayers and joined a munajat seeking eternal peace of the departed soul of Bangabandhu.
