RANGPUR: Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu yesterday called for building a traffic-jam free Rangpur city through ensuring order in the road transportation sector, reports BSS.
He said this while launching of the digital license distribution programme for the battery-run auto rickshaws having digital number plates among owners of the three-wheelers at the City Bhaban auditorium yesterday afternoon as the chief guest.
With Chief Executive Officer of RCC Ruhul Amin Kahn in the chair, it's Secretary Fazlul Kabir, Chief License Inspector Mohammad Ali, License Inspector Rafik-Ul-Alam and Assistant License Inspectors Masud Hassan and Nure Alam were present.
After inaugurating the digital license distribution programme for the auto rickshaws, the City Mayor stressed for turning Rangpur into a traffic-jam free international standard modern and eco-friendly city with excellent road communication networks.
He called upon the owners and drivers of the battery-run auto rickshaws for availing digital licenses and affixing digital number plates to their vehicles for ensuring proper management in movements of the three-wheelers in the city.
