Religious minister urges law enforcers to work sincerely
MYMENSINGH: Minister for Religious Affairs Principal Motiur Rahman urged the members of law enforcers to work sincerely to root out terrorism and militancy from the society, reports BSS. The government has taken zero tolerance against the terrorist and militants in order to ensure peace and progress for the country. The religious minister was addressing at a meeting on law and order held at the auditorium of DC office today with Deputy Commissioner Md. Khalilur Rahman in the chair. The meeting was addressed, among others, by Police Super Syed Nurul Islam, Mayor of Mymensingh Pourasabha Ekramul Haque Teto, Pannel Chairman and President of Motor Owners Association Momtazudin Monta, President of district Awami league Advocate Zahirul Haque Khoka,Secretary Advocate Muazzem Hossain and Press club Secretary Babul Hossain. The minister also urged the district administration to take immediate steps to remove traffic congestion in the city.
Road crash kills father, son
NATORE: A man and his son were killed and two others injured as a pick-up van hit them in Bonpara area on the Bonpara-Pabna highway under Baraigram upazila of the district yesterday, reports BSS. The victims are Dulal Hossain Sarder, 40, and his son Siam Hossain, 5, resident of Bonpara-Malipara village of the upazila. Officer-in-Charge of Bonpara Highway Police Station G.M Shamsunnur said the accident occurred in front of Baraigram upazila parishad at about 10.30 am when the pick-up van hit a rickshaw-van, leaving the van passenger Siam dead on the spot and three others injured, including Siam’s parents. The injured were sent to a local hospital. Later, seriously injured Dulal was shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where on duty doctor declared him dead.
Body recovered in Jhenidah

Police recovered the body of an unidentified youth in Jhenaidah town yesterday morning. Additional superintendent of Jhenaidah police Azbahar Ali Seikh said locals recovered the body of the youth aged about 16 from an under construction mosque in the town at about 9AM. On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body that bore several injury marks on different parts.
