‘Drug peddler’ arrested

Thakurgaon: Detectives detained an alleged drug peddler with 1000 pieces of yaba tablets from Ronhatta Chowrongi village under Haripur Upazila on Wednesday. Farhat Ahmed, Superi-ntendent of the district police made the announcement at a press briefing on Thursday. The detainee is Hossain Ali alias Choton, 40, son of Aman Ullah, of Ronhatta Chowrongi village. M.Rafiq, assistant sub-inspector of Detective Branch (DB) of Police, said: “Acting on a tip-off, a team of DB police conducted the drive in the area and seized 1000 pieces of Yaba tablets from Choton’s possession.”
