A daylong job fair for those intend to build career in the country's apparel sector will be held in the capital tomorrow, reports UNB.
Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) will organise the fair at International Conference Centre, Bashundhara.
About 40 garment factory owners will participate in the fair to pick their required workers and executives from about 1000 jobseekers who have already been trained up by BGMEA under its partnership programme with the government's project "Skill for Employment Investment Programme (SEIP)".
BGMEA President Siddiqur Rahman announced the details at a press briefing at the trade body's headquarters in the capital yesterday.
He said Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed will inaugurate the career fair in the morning while State Minister for Labour Mujibul Haque Chunnu will also be present in the inaugural session.
The BGMEA chief said the finance ministry took up the SEIP project in partnership with nine trade bodies and five public and private organisations to create 260,000 skilled manpower across the country by 2018.
