Man gets life for killing wife in Khulna

KHULNA: A Khulna court yesterday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for killing his wife in Natunbazar Char area under Sadar thana in the city on January 28, 2010, reports BSS.
The convict is Md Sheikh Mirajul alias Amanullah, 27, of village Natunbazar Char under sadar upazila in the district. 
Judge of 'Jananirapatta Bighnakari Aparadh Daman Tribunal' S M Solaiman handed down the verdict in absence of criminal as he is absconding since the murder.
 According to the prosecution, the prosecution lawyer special public prosecutor advocate Arif Mahmud Liton said Miraz hit his wife Hosne Ara, 20, on the head with a rolling-pin (Shil-Pata) following family feud on January 28, 2010.
Miraz left the house leaving his wife seriously head injured. Local people rushed Hosne Ara to Khulna Medical College Hospital where duty doctor declared her dead.
Md Nannu Shikder, brother of the victim, filed a murder case against Miraz with Khulna Kotwali Police Station in this connection.
