A female bank officer was hacked to death allegedly by her former husband in the capital’s Central Road area yesterday morning, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Arifun Nesa, 25, who used to work at Jamuna Bank’s Paltan branch.
Hailing from Jamalpur, she used to live with her mother in their Central Road residence. Victim's brother Abdul Al Amin said Arifun's ex-husband Robin used to threaten her after she got divorced with him around four months ago.
He said Robin chopped her indiscriminately around 8am when she came out of her residence for her workplace, leaving her critically injured.
She was first taken to Central Hospital and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where she succumbed to her injuries at noon, said sub-inspector Bachchu Miah, in-charge of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp.
