On February 25, 16-year-old Yunyun (a pseudonym) was diagnosed with a serious head injury because of a major traffic accident. He died of brain failure.
After hearing the sad news, Yunyun’s parents were grieved to point of death. After careful consideration, Yunyun’s parents said to the doctors that they were willing to donate their son’s useful organs to those in need. “No one has advised us to donate, but as a matter of fact we often see such propaganda in hospitals. I once thought, ‘when I pass away, I will also donate my organs’. But we never thought...” Yunyun’s mother could not continue while choking with sob.
In the Registration Form for Human Organ Donation of the Chinese People, our reporter read that this 16-year-old child donated nine organs and tissues after the confirmation of death. On the Registration Form, there are the red fingerprints of Yunyun’s parents.
