Khaleda may appear before court today

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia may appear before a special court in Dhaka today to attend the hearing on the Zia Orphanage Trust and Zia Charitable Trust graft cases, reports UNB.
“Khaleda Zia is respectful to law, and she’s likely to appear before the court on Thursday,” her counsel Sanaullah Mia told the news agency yesterday.
Khaleda was scheduled to attend her Gulshan office last night where she was supposed to decide about her court appearance in consultation with her lawyers, said her media wing member Sayrul Kabir Khan.
On August 8, 2011, the ACC filed the Zia Charitable Trust graft case with Tejgaon Police Station accusing four people, including Khaleda Zia, of abusing power in raising funds for the trust from unknown sources.
Besides, the ACC filed the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case on July 3, 2008.
