GAIBANDHA: Poor and half-educated youth women are being imparted training here on five trades under a government project to make themselves self-dependent, reports BSS. District women affairs office is implementing the project entitled ‘Women’s Skill Based Training Programme for Livelihoods’ for the unemployment youth women while government of Bangladesh is providing fund, office sources said. The project aims to eradicating poverty and help the youth women in income generating activities so that they become self-reliant. Under the project, a total of 50 youth women of the district are being provided training on five trades like tailoring, show piece making, beautification, karchupi and candle making, and block buttick.

The rivers of the district are facing threat of their existence as most of the rivers has lost their flowing and navigation, reports BSS. Once there were boats, launches and steamers in the rivers…
