Stress on forming anti-drug bodies in Khulna

KHULNA: Speakers at a meeting yesterday stressed the need for forming anti-drug committees comprising local public representatives to free Khulna city from drug abuse, reports BSS. 
The committees to be formed in every localities of the city should work in collaboration with the Drugs and Narcotics Department, they said.
Describing drug-abuse, terrorism and militancy as the major impediments on way to achieve desired development goals, the speakers suggested taking up special measures to curb drug abuse.  Steps should also be taken for carrying out campaign against drug abuse and holding discussion at every Madrasha, school and college to address the social menaces.
They were speaking at the monthly law and order meeting at the conference room of the deputy commissioner. Khulna deputy commissioner Nazmul Ahsan presided over the meeting.
