The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 yesterday set April 12 to pass order on whether to take into cognizance the charges pressed by the prosecution against five alleged Razakars from Gaibandha, reports BSS.
The five accused are Abdul Zabbar Mandal, aJafiar Rahman, Abdul Wahed Mandal, Mamtaz Ali Bepari and Ronju Miah.
"We have submitted the formal charge on March 9, pressing five charges of crimes against humanity against the accused," Prosecutor Mukhlesur Rahman Badal said to the two-member tribunal.
Justice Shahinur Islam, senior member of the two-judge tribunal, then set April 12 for passing cognizance order.
Meanwhile, the prosecution also brought tribunal's attention to the fact that one accused in the case Akbar Ali Khan, has died on December 3, 2016, in Kushtia. "We have left his name out of the formal charge. We are just informing the matter to the tribunal, " Badal added.
