EU 5th convocation today
The 5th convocation of Eastern University (EU) will be held today at 10.30 am in the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB), says a press release.
Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahir will confer the degree on behalf of the President and Chancellor of EU.
Canadian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Benot-Pierre Larame, will be the convocation speaker and Prof Abdul Mannan, chairman, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC), will be the special guest. Other distinguished guests will be present at the function.
Workshop on emergency response held at JU
SAVAR: A two-day workshop on First-Aid, Emergency Response, Fitness and Injury organised by Jahangirnagar University Martial Club (JUMC) held on March 8 and 9 at JU Gymnasium.
On Wednesday evening, Umme Habiba, the director of JU Physical Education department, inaugurated this workshop programme.
In this workshop, the participants were trained up on fitness exercise, yoga, injury handling, jogging, First Aid Injury management, where Md Nurullah Gaji Md Mamunur Rashid Md. Mynur Rahman and Dr Md Tauhidur Rahman were took part as trainer. A total of 60 students of different departments were took part in this workshop.
Intl seminar on oral history held at RU
Rajshahi: A day long international seminar aim to enlarge knowledge on history and language on Oral History was held on Thursday at Institute of Bangladesh Studies (IBS) conference room on Rajshahi University campus.
RU vice-chancellor Prof Mohammed Mizanuddin was the chief guest while Pro vice-chancellor Prof Chawdhury Sarwar Jahan, Dhaka University (DU) History Department Prof Majbah Kamal were the special guests and IBS director Shorochito Gosh presided over the programme. Prof Md Najimul Haque, convener of the organising committee, gave welcome speech while M Phil fellow Sumaya Chawdhury conducted it.
A total of 39 papers were presented here where more than hundreds researchers, teachers, historians took part on the programmme.
