Members of Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested four suspected drug peddlers, including two women, along with one kilogram heroin from different places in the capital on Friday, reports UNB.
The arrestees were Mohammad Akhtaruzzaman alias Bakul, Mahammad Jahurul Islam, Mita Begum and Jahanara.
Tipped off, a special team of Detective Branch (North) of police conducted a drive near the airport area and arrested Bakul, said Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). The law enforcers also recovered 500 grams heroin from his possession.
Based on Bakul's information, the DB team conducted another drive in Kamlapur rail station area and arrested Jahurul, Mita and Jahanara along with 500 grams heroin.
During primary interrogation, the arrestees revealed that they bought the heroin from Rajshahi to sell in different areas of the capital, said Masudur.
