Breakthrough discovery by a Bangladeshi scientist

A news agency has reported on the discovery of a subatomic particle, named Weyl fermion, by a team at Princeton University in USA. The team was led by a Bangladeshi phycisist, M Zahid Hasan, who is professor of Physics at Princeton University.
The new subatomic particle is different from others in the sense that it can be reproduced and potentially applied. If it is applied to next generation electronics, it could allow for a nearly free and efficient flow of electricity in electronics, and thus greater power, especially for computers.
Needless to say, the research opens up a new door for applied physics that could lead to development of new products and processes. That a Bangladeshi was put in charge of such an important project speaks volumes about their brains and talents. Indeed, the achievements of many Bangladeshis have been making us proud as we more and more learn about their outstanding achievements round the world.
But the same also leads us to the question : why these Bangladeshis are able to make such useful contributions to alien societies when their home country remains so deprived of their services. The self-seeking of many of them are to be blamed notwithstanding their undeniable exceptional abilities. But it is also as much true that many of our scientists were simply disheartened as they stayed on and attempted to discharge their duties to their motherland sincerely. For example, let us look at the affairs of the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR).
A big exodus from this organization took place and is still taking place as its scientists found themselves too neglected. The authorities have been miserly in extending to them requisite funding for their research. Reportedly, they also suffered from not getting appropriate salaries and perks that could keep them motivated in doing their work. Finding the situation far better abroad on both counts, they started migrating in increasing number. But in all fairness can we blame them for this attitude under the present circumstances ?
Clearly, Bangladesh has to nationally put aside greater resources regularly than it so far has for research and development (R&D) activities. Doing of this would create an environment for getting more out of its human resources. Besides, its government should carry out policies effectively to create incentive among its science and technology knowing individuals to live and work in Bangladesh.
