Left-handed opener Imrul Kayes will fly for Colombo by a flight of Lanka Bangla at 2:05pm today to join the team ahead of the second and last Test of the two-Test series against Sri Lanka.The second Test for Bangladesh’s 100th Test is slated to kickstart at the P Sara Stadium in Colombo, starting from March 15.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) selection panel chairman Minhajul Abedin Nannu confirmed the news of Imrul Kayes’ departure for Sri Lanka.
“Yes, Imrul Kayes is going to Sri Lanka,” Minhajul Abedin told The Independent over mobile phone. The opener earlier got the green signal from the national selectors to join the team in Sri Lanka but he could not head for Colombo because of the last round game of the Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL).
