The Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) is one of the most prominent universities of Bangladesh. It’s playing an important role in creating intellectuals for Bangladesh.
The RUET provides educational and related facilities to give students the ability to plan, administer and manage the latest technologies to decrease the gap between developed and developing countries. Due to its better policies and facilities for the research-education with central library, this campus` global reputation is built on the pursuit of education, learning and research at the highest international level.
RUET student advisor Prof. NHM Quamruzzaman Sarker said, the library, with its various facilities of accessing printed materials, there are now additional facilities such as Internet, Wi-Fi and e-resources.
In consistent with the academic curricula, the contents of the central library are being updated consistently to keep up with modern technological trends. The other one is the rental library which apart from the central library facility provides books on rent to a number of students.
The library is committed to play its part in maintaining this reputation both now and in the future, to that end the library enables and enhances research, teaching and learning through its expertise collections, facilities and services.
Administrative sources said that the library's top priorities are leading information provision and discovery for RUET and the global academic community along with working in partnership with scholars to advance transformative research and learning.
There are two types of the library system in RUET. First one is called the central library and the second one is called the rental library.
The central library building is within the walking distance from the academic buildings and students residences. It is a compact building with limited built-in facilities to provide teaching aides such as reading facility, borrowing of books, journals etc. to the students and teachers of RUET. To promote education and research the RUET Central Library is one of the members of INSAP-PERI and UGC Digital Library Consortium for e-resources.
