Abahani is trying to give all out support to the players to boost up them for the AFC Cup competitions, rest of all depend on their commitments to club and commitments towards the country.

Sattyajit Das Rupu, manager of the Abahani Limited stated this in a press conference yesterday at the club’s office room ahead of their AFC Cup championship match.
Abahani Limited have been drawn in the Group E along the Mohun Bagan, JSW Bengaluru FC of India and Maziya Sports and Recreation Club of Maldives.
Abahani will begin their campaign with home match against the Maldives champions Maziya Sports  on March 14 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium at 6:10pm. They will take on Indian giants Mohun Bagan on April 4 at the Rabindra Sorobar Stadium, Kolkata.  
However, in the press conference, Abahani officials, director Harunur Rashid, Kazi Enam Ahmed, team’s manager Sattayajit Das Rupu informed about their team’s present condition while the general secretary of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) was also present.
Harunur Rashid, the founder general secretary of Abahani said, “Actually Abahani is representing our country, so we request all the fans through media and highly expecting  not only the supporters of Abahani but all football fans to come at the stadium to support the players.”
Harunur Rashid also said, “We will make it free entrance for the all students and the price of ticket is also very cheap, gallery taka 50, VIP 100 and VVIP 150.”
Rupu, while detailed about the team's real position said that they have enough players in the camp including guests. There is a one setback is that their main striker Sunday will not available as he is yet to come round from his injury.
“We have enough players for every position including our own and some guest players. Hopefully players will give their optimum level, because this is not only for club but also the prestige of country’s football.”
Rupu eagerly expects to make a winning start when he said, “The first match is very much important, a winning start will be a big inspiration for the boys for next matches, as we will start with home match, my expectation is to make a winning start.”         
“What I believe, we can try and provide all the necessary things to boost up the players in accordance our limitation, rest of all depends on players’ performance. On the day how they react on the filed and can perform.”
Replying to another query, Rupu said, “They had to play in the Sheikh Kamal International Football tournament in Chittagong with some lacking, like our defenders Samad, striker Sunday were injured, key man Lee Tuck was not available and preparation was not also good enough.”
As they have no scope to include any new foreign players right now due to ITC problem, their lasts season’s David Jonathon, Samad Yusuf and Emeka Darlington are the three foreign booters will play.
Director Enam Ahmed said, “I expect, we will do well in both home and away matches, team’s condition is good. It is the best opportunity for the players to prove them as they are the best side in the South Asia, because they are representing the country.”
