Two-day meeting of Common-wealth ministers, responsible for trade, industry and investment, kicked off in London yesterday, reports UNB.
Commerce Minister Tofail took part in the discussion with his counterparts with special focus on future trade negotiation with the UK.
The meeting, the first of its kind, is jointly convened by the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) and the Common-wealth Secretariat.
Over the two days, ministers from over 30 Commonwealth countries will consult business leaders and trade experts, and conclude it with a closed door policy roundtable at Marl-borough House on March 10.
"Current global trade instability remains a priority concern for member states. It's vital that no country is left behind. Our trade experts
have identified significant, untapped opportunities which, with the Secretariat's support, can boost intra-Commonwealth trade from 17 per cent to 25 per cent over the next three years," Common-wealth Secretary-General Patricia of Scotland was quoted as saying in a statement.
