JCD president denied bail

A Patuakhali court yesterday rejected bail to Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) central unit President Razib Ahsan and five others in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.
Senior Judicial Magistrate HM Tareq Shams rejected the bail prayer for the accused after they were produced before his court and fixed 10th August as the next date for hearing.
Police arrested Razib and the five others said with a bottle of wine and 45 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from the Lebukhali ferry terminal on the Barisal-Patuakhali highway around 11:30pm on July 19. Later, the officer-in-charge of Dumki Police station filed a case against the six under the Narcotics Control Act.
