Privatisation Commission, BoI to be merged : PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today announced that the Privatisation Commission and Board of Investment (BoI) will be merged together for boosting investment and industrialisation in the country, reports BSS.
“We want to merge the Privatisation Commission with the Board of Investment for further accelerating investment and industrialisation in the country,” she said.
The Prime Minister made the announcement while exchanging views with the senior officials of the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) at the PMO here.
In this connection, Sheikh Hasina said that the paper works on this merger have been almost done and directed the authorities concerned to complete the process soon.
While talking about the enhancing salary and allowances for the government officials and employees, Sheikh Hasina said her government gave pay scale to them in 2009.
“The rises of salary and allowances of the government staff in that pay scale were not nominal, it was a handsome increase of salary and allowances,” she said.
The Prime Minister said another pay scale is supposed to be executed from this month. “By the grace of Allah, it is almost ready and we will do it,” she said.
