The boarder price index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) yesterday crossed the 5600-point mark again on higher transaction of large-cap securities, reports BSS.
The DSEX surged by 33.66 points to reach at 5622.49 when the blue-chip DS30 rose to 2031.73 and the Shariah DSES to 1307.41.
The day’s trade value at DSE increased to Tk 1127.56 crore from Monday’s Tk 961.08 crore and the daily trade also rose to 31.17 crore shares from 25.35 crore shares of the previous session.
The higher activities pushed prices of 162 securities up when only 119 incurred losses and 49 remained unchanged.
The major gainers were Peninsula Chittagong, ILFSL, Continental Insurance, First Security Bank and Northern Insurance. The major losers were KAY&QUE, BSC, NCCBL Mutual Fund 1, Republic and Standard Insurance.
Lanka Bangla Finance topped the turnover list followed by GPH Isphat, Islami Bank, Peninsula Chittagong and Baraka Power.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also followed the same trend with its CASPI index 99.68 points up at 17,406.22.
The daily tread value rose to Taka 62.95 crore and the volume was 1.89 crore shares. Out of the traded 251 issues 123 closed up against 94 lagging securities.
