Leaders BCB North Zone took a staggering 397-run lead against Islami Bank East Zone on the end of the third day of the sixth and last round in the franchisee-based Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah yesterday. The match between Prime Bank South Zone and defending champions Walton Central Zone was drafting towards the expected draw as the former batted two and half-a-days to put on 749 for eight before declaring their first innings.

North Zone vs East Zone
Islami Bank East Zone lost their remaining three wickets as soon as adding 24 runs with their overnight 192-7. That’s meant they mustered 216 runs in response to BCB North Zone’s first innings total of 374.
A valuable 82-run eighth wicket stand from  Mohammad Saifuddin and Rahatul Ferdous provided the last impetus in the East Zone innings. After losing Saifuddin, who got out for 40, Rahatul Ferdous tried to stretch the total with his fellow batsmen. Ferdous was the number tenth batsman to fall for 38 starting with his overnight 23.
Pacer Shafiul Islam widened his tally to six removing Rahatul Ferdous on the third day. Islam, who took five wickets, finally  finished his bowling figure with 6-70. He was ably aided by Forhad Reza, who chimed in with 3-38.
BCB North Zone in reply, put on 239 for six in their second innings largely thanks to Nazmul Hossain Shanto’s unbeaten 91 and Nasir Hossain’s 63. Zunaid Siddique contributed 40. Nasir made 84-ball 63 with eight fours. Shanto was unbeaten at 91 with Alauddin Babu being six.
Central Zone vs South Zone
After Tushar Imran (217), Shahriar Nafees slammed a double century. Nafees converted his overnight 170 to credible double. The left-handed batsman clubbed 18 fours and five sixes in his patient 207 off 298-ball knock to be remained at stumps. Nazmul Islam was not out on 36.
This was a new record in Bangladesh first class cricket as two double centuries were scored in a single innings. It was Shahriar’s second double century as Tushar Imran posted as many as three double ton.
In reply, Walton Central Zone compiled 184 for three rode on a couple of half-centuries from Shadman Islam (not out 63) and Saif Hassan (50). Marshall Ayub (37) and Rony Talukdar (26) were the other double digit scorers.
Experienced spinner Abdur Razzak picked up two wickets for Prime Bank.
