The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has approved a charge-sheet against two graft suspects, including a former line director of the Health Education Bureau, in a graft case, reports UNB.
The ACC at its regular meeting yesterday approved a proposal for submitting charge-sheet against them, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said. He said the charge-sheet will be submitted before court soon against former line director of the Bureau of Health Education & Promotion (Directorate General of Health Services) Md Anwarul Islam Khan and owner of Gono Unnayan Sangstha Abdul Sattar Bhuiyan. On January 2, 2013, the ACC filed a case against them with Banani Police Station for allegedly misappropriating public money of over Tk 28 lakh.
According to the case statement, the then line director of the Health Education Bureau in collusion with local contractor Gono Unnayan Sangstha swindled the amount from an awareness campaign programme of the DGHS without doing any work.
