Review plea filed over 7-murder

A revision was filed yesterday challenging the judicial magistrate court order that rejected no confidence petition against the charge sheet in the seven-murder case of Narayanganj, reports BSS from Narayanganj.
Selina Islam Beauty, wife of panel mayor of Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC), who was brutally killed along with six others, filed the revision with the court of District and Session Judge of Narayanganj Syed Enayet Hossain.
After accepting the revision, the court summoned case docket of seven-murder case from the lower court.
Earlier on July 8 last, Judicial Magistrate Court rejected the naraji petition (no confidence) against the charge sheet in the seven-murder case accusing 35 people including three former RAB-11 officials. The court earlier took the charge sheet into cognizance and issued warrant of arrest against 13 fugitive criminals. The naraji petition was filed as names of some core criminals have been dropped from the charge sheet.
A gang of criminals abducted seven persons including Nazrul Islam, his lawyer Advocate Chandan Sarker from Shibu Market area on Dhaka-Narayanganj link road on April 27 last year. Bodies of the victims were later recovered from the river Shitalakhya.
Two separate murder cases were lodged with Fatullah Police Station by Nazrul’s wife Beauty and Chandan’s son-in-law Bijoy Kumar Pal.
Investigation officer (IO) of the case Mamunur Rashid Mandol submitted a charge sheet before Senior Judicial Magistrate Court of Narayanganj on April 9.
