DINAJPUR: Police, in special drives from Friday night to yesterday morning, arrested 52 persons including seven drug traders, and recovered illegal drugs- phensidyl, yaba tablets and locally made liquor - from nine upazilas of the district, reports BSS. Sources with the district police said they were picked up from different areas of the district.Police said, during the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested 21 persons including seven drug traders with 1,800 liters of locally made liquor, Phulbari police four, Khansama four, Birganj three, Kaharole three, Parbatipur three, Ghora-ghat three, Hakimpur police nine and Birampur police arrested two accused. Police recovered 218 pieces of yaba tablets and 306 bottles of phensidyl from Hakimpur upazila during the period. Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.The arrested people were sent to jail yesterday afternoon.
