Officials of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department (CIID) unearthed a tax evasions incident of Tk 7.50 crore yesterday, reports UNB.
Sources at the CIID said a private owned packaging company ‘M/S Vicky Packaging’ of Jatrabari in Dhaka, imported different types of goods, including duplex board, art card, liner paper and printing ink worth around Tk 20 crore misusing bond facilities in between 2011 and June 2015.
Getting allegations that the packaging company has been imported the goods since 2011 using the bond facilities without taxes for export, the CIID conducted investigation into the matter and found that the company sold the goods in local markets evading taxes of Tk 7.50 crore, said Assistant Director of CIID Umme Nahida.
She said legal action will be taken against the packaging company, she said.
