Awami League joint general secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak MP yesterday urged people to wage strong resistance against BNP-Jamaat alliance terming it a patron of militants, reports UNB.
"If the strong resistance can be build up, it'll be easy to create competent and science-minded human resources with the spirit of the Liberation War in the educational institutions," he said while addressing the prize-giving ceremony of the annual sports competition of Lalmatia Mohila College in the city.
Nanak stressed the need for the regular arrangement of sports and cultural programmes and increasing the activities of Scouting and Girls Guide to prevent the activities of militants and terrorists in the educational institutions, said a press release. The AL leader said the present ICT-friendly government has installed computer labs in 1,500 colleges. Nanak distributed prizes among winners in different events of the sports competition. He also inaugurated the Liberation War corner at the college's central library.
