Job fair begins today at RU
Rahshahi: The two-day 4th RUCC Job Fair-2017 will begin on the Rajshahi University (RU) campus today. Rajshahi University Career Club (RUCC) is organising the fair which will engage potential job seekers in recruitment process. RUCC President Kazi Mahmud Dip confirmed the information through a press conference yesterday at university central cafeteria.
RU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Mizanuddin is expected to inaugurate the fair at a function as the chief guest by releasing balloons and pigeons, he added.
RUCC President Kazi Mahmud Dip said, "The fair will be an excellent platform for eligible candidates to get good jobs. A total of 10 seminars will be held during the two-day long fair." Senior officials and human resource experts will address the seminars to educate the students for becoming eligible candidates to get better jobs, he also added. As many as 25 private companies will take part in the fair.
Digital hall management launched in RU
RAJSHAHI: Rajshahi University (RU) administration on Thursday launched digital hall management system for proper operation of service management in all its residential halls and dormitories. With this breakthrough, both residential and non-residential students can receive requisite services digitally through their smart identity card from now on. For the purpose, there will be computers comprising necessary software, smart card reader and specialized apps connected to smart phones in the office.
Through this system, all information relating to residential and fees of students could be added and updated instantly. RU Vice-chancellor Prof Md Mijanuddin inaugurated the system at ICT center’s digital conference room as chief guest.
Pro-VC Prof Chowdhury Sarwar Jahan and Director of ICT Center Prof Khademul Islam were present at the ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Mijanuddin said the venture is an important step of the overall digitalization process of the university. All departments, offices and medical centre will be connected with the digital management in phases.
NSU donates vehicles to DMP
North South University (NSU) authorities handed over vehicles to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) at a ceremony held on the university premise in the capital on Thursday NSU donated the vehicles under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, says a press release. Dr Kamal Uddin, secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Azim Uddin Ahmed, chairman, NSU Trustee Board, were present as the chief guest and special guest respectively.
Asaduzzaman Mia, commissioner, DMP attended the programme as guest of honour. Among others NSU Trustee members, senior official of DMP, NSU faculty and administrative members were present.
Orientation, oath taking programme held
The students of 162, 163 and 171 Batches of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) department of Primeasia University has celebrated ‘Orientation and Oath Taking Programme-2017’ on the university campus at Banani in the capital on Tuesday, says a press release.
AKM Ashraful Haque, treasurer of Primeasia University, was the chief guest while Abul Kashem Molla, registrar of the university, was the special guest. Md Ershadul H Choudhury, head of CSE Department of Primeasia University, chaired the programme.
Dr Mohammad Nazir Hossain, head of Biochemistry Department, Dr Muhammad Abdus Salam, head of Public Health and Nutrition (PHN) Department, Mohammad Sharfaraz, head of Law Department and Dr Muhammad Shahjalal, were also present in the programme.
