RANGPUR: The permanent street lighting programme of Rangpur City Corporation (RPCC) will be completed soon, reports BSS. The corporation is implementing the programme by replacing older bulbs at a cost of about Tk 7. 26 crore with financial assistance of Japan InternationalCooperation Agency(JICA) and Government of Bangladesh (GoB). The replacement of existing sodium and tube light bulbs began last year with energy saving ones to ensure permanent street lighting system in the city. Mayor of RPCC Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu inaugurated the replacement programme last year.
