Election can be held without Khaleda: Inu

President of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) and Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu today said that those, who were saying election could not be held without Khaleda Zia's participation, were trying to push the country beyond constitutional rule, reports BSS. The minister was speaking at a meeting organised by the city unit of his party at the Taher auditorium at Bangabandhu Avenue. The minister recalled the great leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the crucial stage of the movement in 1971. Inu also recalled the sacrifice of all those in 1971 and before to create a nation for Bengalis. He particularly recalled the role of the student leaders who had formed a "nucleus" in the '60s to attain the goal of independence. The minister criticized those who had opposed the Bengali nationalist movement. "They are the same people who opposed celebration of Bengali culture also," he said. Referring to the current political situation in the country Inu said that some people were trying to push the country beyond constitutional rule. "But", he assured the people "election would be held on schedule."
He further said "We've defeated them in '52, '54, '69 and '71 and we will defeat them again, now." He said that there would be no compromise with patrons of militants, arsonists, war criminals and corrupt elements. Among others, party general secretary Shirin Akhter, MP, and other party leaders spoke on the occasion.
