44 held, illegal drugs recovered

DINAJPUR: Police in special drives arrested 44 people and recovered huge quantity of illegal drugs from different places in 10 upazilas of the district during the last 12 hours, reports BSS. During the drives, the law enforcers recovered illegal drugs- phensidyl, Yaba tablets, and Ganja from their possessions, police said. During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested 13 persons including five drug peddlers with 2.5-kg of Ganja, Birganj three, Kaharole four, Biral three, Khansama five, Birampur three, Chirirbandar six, Hakimpur two, Parbatipur one and Bochaganj police arrested four persons. Hakimpur police recovered 247 bottles of Phensidyl and 298 pieces of Yaba tablets during the drives. Several cases were filed with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
