IUB gets new Pro-VC 
Prof Milan Pagon has been appointed as the Pro-Vice Chancellor (VC) of the Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) on Monday for a period of four years, says a press release. 
Prof Pagon was appointed to the rank of Full Professor of Organization and Management at the University of Maribor, Slovenia in 2002. He had also served as Adjunct Professor at the Department of Management and Organisations, Henry B Tippie College of Business, University of Iowa .
 Dr Pagon holds a ScD in Organisational Sciences (Human Resource Management) from the University of Maribor, Slovenia, and a PhD in Business Administration (Management/ Organizational Behavior) from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, USA. 
 Dr Pagon was a Fulbright Scholar to the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville (1990-1994). He is the author and coauthor of several book chapters and numerous scholarly articles in many different journals.

Campus cleaning campaign held 
SAVAR: The 2nd reunion of Geography and Environment department of Jahangirnagar University (JU) began on campus yesterday with ‘Campus Cleaning Campaign’. 
This campaign was started at about 10am from JU Social Science Faculty  which was carried out at Central Shaheed Minar area, New Arts building premises, registrar building premises, medical center, old arts building, transport area and Bottola.  
Dividing into a total of 5 groups, the former and current students of the department took part in this campaign. Earlier, the member secretary of the reunion organising committee Khondokar Hasan Mahmud distributed cleaning instruments and t shirts among the former and current students of the department. 
Acting chairman of the department Prof Shahedur Rashid, Lecturer Bibi Hafsa, Md Rejaul Rakib, Ebadullah Khan, Md Anwarul Haque Khan, Md Alamgir Hossain Bhuyan took part at this campaign among others. The acting chairman of the department Prof Shahedur Rashid said, ‘We wanted to start our reunion programme with an exceptional event. 
So, we conducted such type of campaign thinking about the university’s environment’ 
The two-day reunion programme will include campus cleaning campaign, tree plantation campaign, drama staging at Selim Al Deen Muktamancha, cake festival, cultural events and concert performed by prominent band team ‘Joler Gan’.
