Commercial viability of 2nd submarine cable soon: Tarana

The commercial activities of second submarine cable will commence in the country from March. 

“The commercial activities of the second submarine cable will start in the country after the inauguration by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, State Minister for Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim told The Independent yesterday. 
 Bangladesh got connected with second submarine cable on February 21, she added. 
Tarana yesterday visited the landing station of second submarine cable at Kuakata in Patuakhali.
The transmission link between Dhaka and Kuakata has been established and the connection has been confirmed by conducting a pilot project, she also said. 
The state minister said it is expected that consumers will get the internet service in cheaper rate after the inauguration of submarine cable‘s commercial viability in the areas like Barishal, Khulna, Faridpur and Patuakhali.
