A mobile court yesterday convicted two drug traders and sentenced them to imprisonment of different terms on charge of trading drugs for long at their localities under Mohanpur Upazila of Rajshahi district.
The convicts were identified as Harunur Rashid, 37, of Mohiskundi Dangapara village and Enamul Haque Monir, 35, of Dhopaghata village.
On a tip-off, a police team conducted raids in the early hours of today and arrested them red-handed.
The duos were produced before the mobile court today, where the Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Executive Magistrate Alamgir Kabir sentenced Harun to nine months jail while Monir to one month jail.
Masud Parvej, Officer-in-Charge of Mohanpur Police Station confirmed the incident and said the convicted were sent to jail.
