NARAYANGANJ: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in a drive on Tuesday night in Deovogue area of the city rescued an eight-month-old baby, who was stolen from the capital’s Mirpur area on February 20, reports BSS.
RAB, after rescuing the baby Marium, handed over the baby to her mother Setu Begum yesterday, said RAB-11 at a press conference.
Commanding Officer of RAB-11 Lieutenant colonel Kamrul Hassan said the eight- month-old girl baby was stolen by neighbor Minara Begum in Shah Ali area of Mirpur on February 20. Later, Minara sold the baby to Masum-Moushumi couple in Deovogue area of Narayanganj, he added.
The RAB officer said Setu Begum, mother of the infant, filed a General Diary (GD) with Shah Ali Thana the following day. The members of the elite force held Minara Begum on Tuesday night and rescued the 8-month-old Marium.
