Former bank official found dead

A former officer of Sonali Bank Ltd was found dead at Ghurulia-Uttarpara in Sadar upazila yesterday night.
The deceased was identified as Rezaul Islam, 50, a former officer of Jessore corporate branch of Sonali Bank and son of Anar Ali of Hasimpur village in Sadar upazila of the district. Officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station Sheikh Ilias Hossain said locals spotted the body of Rezaul in Ghurulia area around 8:30pm and informed police.
Later, the law enforcers recovered the body that bored chopping marks in the head and sent it to Jessore General Hospital for autopsy.
Police also recovered a motorcycle and two blank cheques of Sonali Bank from the spot. 
Police said the miscreants might have hacked him to death with sharp weapons.

Criminals torch school 
Brahmanbaria: Unidentified miscreants set fire to a primary school at Tarua in Ashuganj upazila yesterday morning, reports UNB.
School headmaster SM Bayezid said miscreants torched his office room at Shalakpara Government Primary School around 6.30am, burning down documents, furniture and other valuables.
Local people first tried to douse the fire but failed.
Later, two fire-fighting units from Sadar and Ashuganj fire stations rushed to the spot and doused the fire.

Woman killed in Mymensingh
OUR CORRESPONDENT, Mymensingh

Police recovered the body of an elderly woman from Mazar Bazar area in Ishwarganj upazila of Mymensingh yesterday morning. 
The victim aged about 65, could not be identified.
Local people found the body lying at the corridor of a rice mill in the morning and informed police.
On information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, said Badrul Alam Khan, officer-in-charge of Ishwarganj police station.
No injury marks were found on the body, said the OC. 
A case was filed.
