The 10th International Poultry Show and Seminar will begin in the capital on March 2 with a slogan-"Poultry for better tomorrow."
Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury will inaugurate the 3-day show at Bashundhara International Convention Centre as chief guest.
World Poultry Science Association-Bangladesh Branch (WPSA-BB) president Shamnsul Arefin Khaled said this at a press conference in the capital yesterday.
He said 195 local and foreign poultry organisations will display their products in 490 stalls in the show. A total of 104 research papers are expected to be presented in the seminar, he added.
"Poultry is a potential sector and total investment in this sector is expected to reach Tk 55,000 crore by 2021," Khaled said.
Earlier, WPSA brought out a colourful rally in the capital yesterday as part of the show.
WPSA-BB general secretary and vice-president Zahidul Islam also spoke at the press conference held at the National Press Club.
