Eight seek AL ticket in Sunamganj-2 by-polls

Some eight persons, including late Suranjit Sengupta's wife Jaya Sengupta, yesterday submitted applications to its office to get Awami League (AL) ticket for contesting in the by-polls to Sunamganj-2 (Dirai-Shalla) constituency on March 30, reports BSS. "A total of eight persons have submitted applications seeking nomination of Awami League to contest in the Sunamganj-2 seat by-polls," AL Deputy Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua told the news agency. The nomination seekers are Jaya Sengupta, Md Samsul Haque Chowdhury, Md Matiur Rahman, Advocate Md Samsul Haque, Azizus Samad Azad, Aboni Mohan Das, Dipok Chowdhury and Anukul Talukder.
