Dhaka has expressed deep concern over the recent testing of ballistic missile by North Korea and called for not resorting to any action that might escalate tensions.
At the same time, Bangladesh has reaffirmed its commitment to continue its efforts for maintaining peace and stability in the region and beyond.
“Bangladesh is expressing its deep concern at the recent test fire of ballistic missile by Democratic People’s Republic of Korea,” said a statement issued by the foreign ministry yesterday. “Bangladesh urges the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to refrain from any activity which can potentially escalate the situation, and to reaffirm its commitment to maintenance of peace and stability of the region and beyond,” said the statement dated February 22.

The efforts of the government to have Bangla established as an official language of the United Nations do not seem to be bringing any positive outcome owing to many factors, especially the financial one…
