Cop killed in Ctg road mishap
A police constable was killed and nine others were injured as a microbus fell into a roadside ditch at Eco Park in Sitakundu upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Mostafa, 45, a constable of Sitakundu Police Station.
Mojammel Haque, officer-in-charge of Sitakundu Police Station, said a microbus carrying some policemen fell into the ditch in the area after the driver lost control over its steering around 8:30pm, leaving 11 policemen injured.
The injured were taken to Sitakundu upazila health complex. Later Mostafa and Shamsu were shifted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where Mostofa succumbed to his injures around 11:30pm.
Youth stabbed dead in Ctg
A youth was stabbed to death by his rival group over establishing supremacy in Zianagor area of Chittagong early yesterday.
The deceased was identified as Md Yeasin alias Mona, 22, a resident of Zianagor under Akbarshah.
“Rival group assaulted and stabbed Yeasin over establishing supremacy in the area on Saturday night. On critical condition his family members whisked him off to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH). In the CMCH he succumbed to injuries,” said Mohammad Alamgir, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Akbarshah police station.
Over the incident conducting drive police detained two—Md Hossain and Farhad.
Workshop on SDGs begins today
A 12-day international training workshop on “Achieving Sustainable Development Goals: Financial Inclusion and Rural Transformation” will be held at Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD) in Comilla on Monday.
BARD will organise the programme co-sponsored by the African Asian Rural Development Organisation (AARDO), New Delhi, India and the Government of Bangladesh, said a press release of BARD.
The inaugural session of the training workshop will be held on Monday at 10:15 am in Auditorium-1 of the Academy. The workshop will be continued till March 10.
The objective of the training workshop is to help achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) through enhancing capacity of policy planners and financial service providers of the AARDO- member countries to ensure financial inclusion in the rural areas for poverty reduction and livelihood improvement.
Awareness workshop held
A workshop titled “Government and Contractor Forum and e-GP Awareness was held in the capital yesterday, says a press release. 
BCCP with technical assistance of CPTU, IME Division, Ministry of Planning organized the workshop,The objectives of the workshop are to enhance knowledge on e-GP system and motivate the participants to maintain social accountability and build an informal platform among the tenders and procuring entities to exchange their views, ideas and experiences related to public procurement.
Md Mofizul Islam, secretary, IMED, Ministry of Planning attended as chief guest at the event. Md Faruque Hossain, Director General (Additional Secretary), CPTU, IMED, Ministry of Planning was present as special guest. Farid Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury, Secretary, security Services Division, Minister of Home Affairs was also present as guest in the workshop.
