Thirteen accomplished Bangladeshi linguists went all out at the final round of the 8th national speech contest in Japanese language held in the capital on Saturday, reports UNB.
They were among the applicants from nine language institutes.
The speech contest in Japanese language is annually organised by JUAAB (Japanese Universities Alumni Association in Bangladesh) and the Embassy of Japan, to encourage Japanese language learners to further excel in the language, said a press release on Sunday. Md. Fuad Hassan Talukder, a university student who loves Japanese animation, made a speech on how the Japanese characters mesmerised and motivated him to learn the language and culture.
Md. Rasel, whose speech was titled “Street Food” introduced the audience to his unique experience with Dhaka's street food. Both Talukder and Rasel got the first prize.
The first prize winners will be invited to participate in the SAFJUAA (South Asian Federation of the Japanese University Alumni Association) Japanese Language Speech Contest, which will be held in Pakistan later in this year, as representatives from Bangladesh.
