The verdict in a case filed over the death of minor boy Jihad in the city in 2014 will be delivered today, reports UNB. The six accused are Shafiqul Islam, contractor of M/S SR House, Md Jahangir Alam, senior sub assistant engineer (inspector of tube-well division) of Bangladesh Railway (BR), its assistant engineers Md Nasir Uddin, Zafor Ahmmed Shakir, Dipak Kumar Bhowmik and Md Saiful Islam. On February 8 last, Judge M Akhtaruzzaman of the Dhaka Special Court-5 set the date after closing arguments from both sides.
On October 4, 2016, a court framed charges against six people over the death of four year old Jihad, who died after falling into an abandoned deep tube-well in Shahjahanpur area of city on December 26, 2014.
