Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) yesterday staged a rally and formed human chain in front of Jatiya Press Club (JPC) here to press home their demand for constituting the 9th wage board, reports BSS. Members from across the country of the largest association of journalists joined the rally. BFUJ President Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul chaired the programme while Secretary General Omar Faruque conducted it. The journalists' leaders warned of waging tougher programme if the 9th wage board is not constituted immediately.
They also demanded of announcing the wage board comprising electronic and online media with print media. The journalists strongly condemned and protested the remarks of several members of parliaments against Prime Minister's Media Adviser and Daily Observer Editor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury. Leaders of different units of BFUJ including Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, Rajshahi, Dinajpur Bogra, Jessore, Kushtia, Cox's Bazar and Narayanganj addressed the rally.
