A female medical student was killed in a road accident at Nayabazar in Bangshal area of the capital yesterday morning, reports UNB.
The victim was identified as Sathia, 22, a student of Dhaka National Medical College and daughter of Mohammad Hasanuzzaman, a resident of Rajshahi.
Enamul, sub-inspector of Bangshal Police Station, said a private car hit the CNG-run auto-rickshaw carrying Sathia while she was going to her college around 6am, leaving her seriously injured.
She was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead around 7.50am, said SI Bachchu Miah, in-charge of DMCH police camp.
