Police and Rampal power plant protesters locked in scuffle in Chittagong yesterday over holding “Rajpathe Gonoabosthan” (Mass sit-in on the street) programme under the banner of National Committee to Protect Oil, Gas, Mineral Resources, Power and Ports as a part of its programme of central committee.
The altercations took place at around 11am when the protesters brought out a procession on Chittagong Press club premises.

Rahat Ullah Zahid, organiser of Chittagong of the National Committee to Protect Oil, Gas, Mineral Resources, Power and Ports alleged that police attacked their peaceful programme without any provocation.
Eyewitnesses said police barred the sit-in-programme at the beginning and snatched their banner.
