The national team will start their camp for the upcoming Sri Lanka series today at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, said the official of BCB.
The camp will begin with the conditioning camp under the supervision of the physio Mario Villavarayen. The Bangladesh team manager Khaled Mahmud Sujon however expected all the coaching staffs, who were on holiday after the Hyderabad Test, from the start of the camp. But at the same time he said, fast bowling coach Courtney Walsh won’t be with the side from the day one.
“I am expecting all the coaching staffs from the start of the camp as they are scheduled to comeback after holidaying following the Hyderabad Test,” Mahmud told the reporters.
“Courtney will join us later on. He won’t be with the side from the day one.”
Before the official camp, the players however started gym and light practice at their own at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim was seen in batting and wicket-keeping practice at the stadium along with several players.
Bangladesh will play two Tests at the start of the tour, one at Galle on Sri Lanka's southern coast from March 7-11 and another in the capital Colombo from March 15-19.
The second Test at Saravanamuttu Stadium, Colombo will be 100th Test match for Bangladesh.
They then play three 50 over internationals before facing off for two Twenty20 matches in the tour, stretching up to April 6.
