State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Meher Afroz Chumki yesterday said the government has embarked on a Taka 250 crore project to make nearly 2 crore women financially self-reliant, reports BSS.
The Women and Children Affairs Ministry has taken an Income Generating Activity (IGA) project with a cost of Taka 250 crore to make the women throughout the country self-reliant, she said.
The state minister was addressing a discussion as the chief guest marking the International Mother Language Day arranged by Jatiya Mahila Sangstha (JMS) at Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib Auditorium here.
Women and Children Affairs Secretary Nasima Begum spoke as the special guest with JMS Chairperson Professor Momtaz Begum in the chair.
