Easy ways to lose weight

Easy ways to lose weight

Most of us aspire to lose those extra kilos, but very few actually take up exercises or workouts to get rid of them. Majority of the people just keep planning their workout but are never able to implement it. This is because of the extra time and efforts required for it. How about slimming down by just making a few changes in your eating habits? Don’t believe it? Try these tips, which actually do wonders and help you get that slim body.

1. Never ever skip your breakfast

“Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper”. There’s no doubting the fact that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. A healthy breakfast helps you get a kickstart of your day and keeps you going. Even if you are extremely late for work, never ever skip your breakfast. Make a habit of eating your breakfast within an hour of waking up as it’ll keep your metabolism in pace.

2. Focus on your food

How many of you have a habit of eating food while watching TV? In spite of being reprimanded by our moms, most of us are guilty of it and often lose track of how much we eat - and this is how we end up overeating. It’s always important to keep a record of the amount of food you are putting into your mouth. Focusing on your food will prevent you from piling those extra pounds.

3. Savour your food

In the rush of the hour, we hardly have time to focus on our food. For meeting deadlines, we often indulge in eating very fast and don’t chew our food well. Studies have shown that people, who chew for longer, consume less number of calories and don’t end up over eating. So every time you eat, chew your food at least 28 times. It might sound unreasonable, but once made a habit, losing that extra weight is not that tough. Indulge in savouring every bit of your food and avoid distractions like phones or television.

4. Avoid bulk meals

Our body is a machine; it requires regular fueling just as our vehicles. Eating in bulk makes our metabolism slow as the body is not able to digest the amount of food given to it at once. Just to avoid this situation, one should have small meals six times a day. This will help your metabolism get going and keep you energetic throughout the day.

5. Select your plates smartly

It might sound ludicrous, but picking your plates right can actually help you monitor your diet. Using small dishes can help you reduce your intake by 20 per cent. Serving your food in bigger plates can make your food look less and thus incite you to eat more.

6. Eat your dinner before 8 PM

‘Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy and wise’. It’s an age old saying well in sync with the fact that eating dinner early should be strictly in our must-do list. Eating your dinner before 8 PM makes us avoid pre-dinner snack. Moreover, it would be a cherry on the top if you brush your teeth and have some green tea just after dinner, it’ll keep the idea of eating out of your mind.

7. Monitor your water consumption

It’s not surreptitious that we should drink at least 8 glasses of water every day. But how many of us actually follow it? Hardly a few. Even if you follow this regime, when to drink water is also equally important. Mid-meal drinking of water can slow down the process of digestion, restraining nutrient absorption. Instead, try drinking water 15 minutes post or prior to your meal for increasing metabolism.

8. Don’t over cook

Fruits and vegetables are loaded with a number of nutrients. Over washing or overcooking reduces the nutrient content by killing or washing away essential nutrients. Due to inadequate nutrient supply, you are left unsatisfied. This induces junk food cravings. To tackle this, eat steamed, baked, blanched or grilled vegetables or meat, helping you optimally consume the nutrients foods have.

9. Have fruits before heavy meals

Wondering how to lose weight at home? Well, fruits are an excellent source for detoxifying your bodies. For making the most out of this blissful category of food, consume them prior to 30 minutes of a heavy meal. Having them on empty stomach, these fruits are easily digested and supplies amazing energy to lose weight.

10. Keep your unhealthy snacks concealed

Keeping unhealthy foods out of sight can actually help you lose weight. Whenever you see those unhealthy snacks, you unknowingly crave for them. As a result of those cravings, you end up putting those snacks in your mouth, inducing weight gain. To avoid this situation, it is advised to keep them simply out of sight.
