Five chefs of a Chinese restaurant suffered burn injuries in a gas cylinder blast at Konapara Mominbagh in the capital’s Demra area on Wednesday morning reports UNB.
The injured — Faruk, 42, Belal Molla, 50, Harun, 50, Chan Miah, 30, and Pichchi, 18, chefs of Red Chili Chinese Restaurant — were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). Of them, Faruk, suffered 63 per cent burns on his body while Chan Miah 57 per cent.
The incident took place when the gas cylinder, kept inside the kitchen of the restaurant, went off around 7:30am, leaving the five cooks injured, said sub-inspector Bachchu Miah, in-charge of DMCH police camp.
